These terms govern use of the ShelfDate website, food-storage database, guides, and calculator.

Informational use

ShelfDate reorganizes public food-storage guidance for convenience. It does not inspect your food and cannot account for every package instruction, formulation, recall, storage temperature, contamination event, or individual health risk.

Safety decisions

Follow the product label, official recall notices, and current government guidance. Discard food after unsafe handling or temperature exposure and when there are signs of spoilage. People who are pregnant, very young, older, or immunocompromised may need stricter advice from a qualified professional.

Calculator estimates

Calculator dates are estimates derived from FoodKeeper periods. Month and year conversions use approximate day counts and are not warranties that food will remain safe or retain quality until a calculated date.

Sources and changes

Government guidance and public datasets can change. ShelfDate may correct, update, remove, or reorganize content without notice. External links and services are controlled by their respective operators.

No warranty

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. ShelfDate does not guarantee completeness, uninterrupted availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
