Website analytics
ShelfDate uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and page usage. Google Analytics may receive device and browser information, an approximate location derived from an IP address, referring pages, page URLs, and interaction events. A database search submitted through a URL may appear in the page URL processed by analytics.
Food search and calculator inputs
The FoodKeeper database is delivered as a public data file and filtering occurs in your browser. Calculator selections and dates are processed in your browser. ShelfDate does not require an account and does not intentionally store a personal history of your food searches or calculated dates.
Server logs
Our hosting provider may keep standard security and access logs, including IP address, requested URL, user agent, and request time.
If you email hello@shelfdate.com, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond to you.
Government and third-party links
The site links to USDA, FoodSafety.gov, Google, and other external services. Their privacy practices are controlled by their own policies.
